When or why I started having a thing for flags, I'm not sure I can quite articulate. It might be all the things we read into them as indicators, the immensely broad range of emotions they can elicit, or just the pure and simple social implication of them. Regardless of the reasons, they always catch my eye and I work them into compositions when I can.

Sometimes I think of a flag blowing in the breeze as a bird chained to a tether, always reaching for freedom - sometimes gently coaxing other times furiously tearing at it's holds. The deflated flag has given up. Exhausted, it has resigned itself to a life of monotony. But who are we kidding... she has the best seat in the house.

I remember when you showed us that picture SOOC and I was like "Damn, he really knew what he was doing laying on the ground in the middle of an alley filled with horse manure." I'm sorry I doubted you. You're a patriot and a gentleman.
