Yesterday the three of us journeyed out to Arlington, MA to spend some time in the lovely afternoon light at Menotomy Park. It was such an incredible day... despite the heat. Seriously, though, anything above 65 and I'm rendered pretty much useless.
Getting a chance to shoot with couples after they have spent time being married - when the craziness of the wedding has died down and all that remains is this beautiful singular entity - is an unfortunately rare occurrence. The sense of tranquility that can come from a meandering walk through the woods, a dangling of feet in the water, and a resting of your head on the shoulder of a loved one is an exquisite work of art.
One of the great things about art is you give people the excuse to take some time, be quiet, and pay attention to something and maybe, under the guise of enjoyment, think about important things in life. Like love.

These two are major motorcycle riders. That's awesome, right? Bryant said that if he were to compare his bike to a car, it'd be a Subaru Outback...dependable, practical, and a little sporty to boot.
Whitney, who is in charge of installing public art displays in NYC, and Bryant, who is a freelance video editor, are getting married next month in Acton, MA. Actually, it's the first ever wedding that's being held at NARA. They've got this kickin' NuSwing band coming up from NYC playing in the amphitheater... it's just going to be a great great time - and I really feel like it mirrors their beautiful personalities. We had a blast hanging out at NARA and a local coffee shop... Can't wait for Sept!
Here's a few fun ones from our time together.
Take a second today to tell someone close to you how much you appreciate them.

I managed to open my Google Reader JUST as you posted this--as in, your blog flashed at me... amazing.
We had such a great time with you yesterday--even in the heat! We may now be covered in trillions of bug bites, but those will be gone soon enough, and we'll (hopefully) have these images forever. Just looking at them makes me feel wonderfully peaceful, which is a fantastic feeling to have in the midst of the craziness of a work day.... thank you :)
(08.18.09 @ 12:12 PM)Beautiful photos. Thanks for sending me the link. However, I was wondering about the photo of you two sitting down in which Elana appears to be munching on Julius' t-shirt and Julius appears to be trying to remove Elana's wedding ring. What was going on there?
(08.18.09 @ 05:14 PM)I think it's obvious: My loving daughter is kissing, not munching, her beloved hubby, while your nefarious son is contemplating how much $$$ they could get if they pawned Elana's engagement ring! ( I hope EVERYONE realizes I'm kidding.....)
(08.19.09 @ 09:44 AM)these are truly wonderful...you can truly see and feel that love they have for each other. It oozes off of my screen.
(08.19.09 @ 12:23 PM)and the comments from the dads....HILARIOUS. =)
I absolutely love this. So warm and beautiful!
